We Rise Networking Event South Brisbane celebrating International Women's Day 2025 in Emporium Hotels.
A beautiful day celebrating International Women's Day hosted by Sasha Eburne with We Rise Networking. I had the honor of being one of three speakers, alongside Judy King and Rhi Thisthethwaite, presenting to a room full of incredible, motivated women—women who are ready for more. Together, we embraced this year’s theme: “Accelerate to Action / Together We Rise.”
For my talk, I shared my story about wanting more—and the struggle of being content. A part of me always knew I could be more, yet deep within, there was a programmed belief designed to keep me in my safe zone. The belief that says: Yes, hard work can provide a great life, so accept it and be grateful.
But what about the curiosity for more? What is I want an extraordinary life?
Then comes the "What If" game—that sneaky voice creeping in with every thought of evolution. What if I fail? What if I make the wrong choice? What if I disappoint people? And worst of all, What if they laugh at me?
Let’s be real—when we strip it all down, our biggest fear isn’t failure. It’s embarrassment. It’s the fear of being laughed at.
But honestly, is being laughed at so dangerous that we’d rather stay in our comfort zone than take a chance on ourselves? NO.
As humans, most of us connect through compassion and empathy. And I’ve reprogrammed my mindset enough to know that the people in my circle—the ones who truly know me—understand that I go all in on my ideas (okay, maybe not every idea, haha). And if something doesn’t work out? At least I tried.
That romanticized fear—the one that convinces us to stay small—is the same fear that breeds mediocrity. And in the end, it often leads to regret.
As women who are constantly rising, we need more than just motivation. We need inspiration, support, and a community that holds space for growth. Because when we rise together, we become unstoppable.
What if everything works out even better than you imagined?
Did you know that most people are more worried about what others think of
them than actually spending time judging others?
Do you have dreams and goals you’re ready to step into?
Let us know what you think in the comments!
